So join us for the choice of two spectacular rides with a relaxed lunch at our favourite Berry hangout ‘Il locale’.
Note this is a free ride, and an excuse for riders new and returning to catch up. We look forward to welcoming you to our neighbourhood! However, please register below so we can manage numbers both for riding, snacks and lunch. You will only need to pay individually for lunch at Il locale.
We will support you to ride any speed you like and with our days being broken up with relaxed coffees and picnic lunches there are no expectations to ride at a certain speed, nor ride as a group. However, what is usually most taxing for riders is spending extended time sitting on the bicycle. Therefore, the more you can prepare your body for that the better. So the key thing is to ride consistently to prepare for your Odyssey.
Sunday December 5th – Come to a free day event where you don’t have to plan, book a hotel or pay – just come and enjoy some of the best roads in Australia and a relaxed lunch.
GPS Navigation on your Bike Touring Adventure is simple and well organised. We use a combination of GPS units and paper map […]
We all can’t wait to be back on the bike exploring the world.
For some (our US and UK riders) this will be sooner rather than later as they head off on Odyssey in just over a month’s time.
Even from lockdown in Australia, there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Beyond having an amazing experience on and off the bike, both your and our European team’s health and safety are our primary concerns.
Our European team is led by Bruno Ramain, the tour leader for both Venetians and Othello. Bruno is a magnificent veteran guide who just returned from pre touring Morocco last week (for Venetian riders you can read the email we sent post this pretour below). He is currently taking a custom group from the USA following the Tour de France. Life is almost back to normal in Europe and North Africa!
This 21-km cycle to the top passes through temperate rainforest, sub-alpine flora and beautiful glacial rock formations. At the top you will have panoramic views of Hobart which extend to South Arm, the Tasman Peninsula and Bruny Island.
Swap pachyderms for pedals as you ride to Rome in the footsteps of Hannibal, one of history’s greatest military commanders.
Ever been curious about what actually happens on a bike tour? This year Bike Odyssey has brought in cycling escapes in Australia to keep people motivated and travelling locally while international travel remains off-limits.
