Epic cols on epic journeys… all of our Odysseys have a challenging climb or two, famous and not so famous. Here is one we are looking forward too next April in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco. The super gradual long and aptly Tiz n’Test! This is an optional climb from our spectacular hotel in the hills Domaine de la Roseraie. (a great place to return to after any ride!)
Tizi n’Test (2092m) cuts through the Atlas mountains. The French from 1926 to 1932 built this winding behemoth – the first modern route to link Marrakesh with the Souss and Sahara. It is a spectacular climb with unmatched vistas. We ascend 1600m in a bit over 30km if you choose to cycle to the pass. Throughout, there are amazing vistas of the Tizi n’Test mountains above the Nfiss Valley with sporadic villages hundreds of metres below. At the top there is a funny markerand a little restaurant for a drink. Some climbs are worth it for the views, some for the achievement, some just because they are just plain fun and adventurous! This ticks all 3!
