We love focusing on the journey and experience but for those who like knowing the details, this newsletter is for you!
We spend a lot of time picking our gear – bikes, GPS, tools, racks and safety devices.
OUR BIKE FLEET – Trek Bikes
Running tours all over the world makes it challenging to maintain a fleet but we now have a fantastic relationship with Trek and use their bikes across Europe and in Australia. All our Domane SL6 road bikes run SRAM ASX electronic groupsets and our electric bikes (both road and touring) come with multiple batteries – no more range anxiety!
….and for this photo only we show the bikes with no meatbags (you’ll know what we mean if you are a true gearhead!!)

OUR RACKS – Yakima and Shingleback
No more racks which touch carbon bike frames! It may seem simple and obvious but you’d be surprised how few companies adopt this policy. We know you love your bike – just as we love ours. Now all our racks are wheel-mounted to ensure bikes travel safely and securely. We have custom built trailers, Yakima roof racks and Australian-built Shingleback rear racks (see cover image).

Our GPS – Hammerhead Karoo 2
Without doubt the best navigational device on the market. With a big, bright, high resolution screen, fantastic mapping and turn by turn navigation these devices are perfect for Odysseys. We consulted with Hammerhead as they developed the Karoo 1 and we have loved their devices ever since.

OUR KIT – Pedalare
Every part of Australian-made Pedalare’s process has been engineered for performance and sustainability, from cut to fabric, ink to packaging. Pedalare pledges not to exploit workers or the environment in the production and distribution of their apparel and they audit all their suppliers to meet our sustainability standards. Besides this commitment, the kit is super comfortable and fantastic quality for those long days on the bike!

OUR VEHICLES – Electric when we can
We still run 2 electric vehicles out of our solar-powered office in Australia and we are on the hunt for electric vans for our tours around the world – they are not too far off (unfortunately the range isn’t quite there for bigger vehicles) but preferably not a cybertruck!

OUR SAFETY – AED Defibrillator System in our vans
Now in our vans in Europe and Australia, automatic AED Defibrillators. You can never be too cautious!
We also now run tracking on all guests through their phones but only if they wish!
