It started with a BBC film crew following three brothers up a mountain pass in the Alps. Since On Hannibal's Trail first aired in 2010, the same road to Rome has drawn its own small library of coverage - Felix Lowe rode it himself a few years later and turned the experience into Climbs and Punishment, a book that recounts crashes, punctures and the particular indignity of being out-climbed by an Australian in his sixties. Forbes came looking for the story behind the company itself, Cyclist Australia sat down for the long version over coffee (and lunch!), and Ride On let us tell it in our own words. More recently, The Guardian picked up the trail again — this time following Homer's Odyssey, while further afield, our Shogun Odyssey through the backroads of Ehime found its own audience too. Every one of these was written by someone who came along for the ride, or asked enough questions to feel like they had.
