RIDE Anything that involves journeying in the wilder places, some where to get away from all the hustle and bustle.
RELAX You'll most likely find me out in the mountains, exploring. And when the day is done, a glass of wine is likely on the menu.
REFRESHMENT Tea. Milk, no sugar, please.
READ Coffee First, Then The World by Jenny Graham. A Scottish woman, a bike, and 18,000 miles around the world. Solo and unsupported.
I grew up on the northeast coast of England. My dad pushed me along the seafront with stabilisers on my first bike, the day they came off, I was off, off and away. Since then I've ridden across countries, clocked up multiple long-distance adventures, and never looked back.
On tours, I like to try to understand what makes people tick and what will make it a great trip for them. Having the opportunity to meet so many interesting people and hear about their adventures and stories always fascinates me. I’ve spent twenty years coaching and facilitating in the outdoors, in all kinds of circumstances, from guiding to professional development.
I also compete at World Championship level in Adventure Racing, which means I understand what it takes to dig deep and what you might need, before you even know you need it yourself. When I’m not on tour, you'll find me in the Lake District (UK), out in the fells or volunteering with my local Mountain Rescue team. I have a keen interest in all things medicine, and being a medic would have been my second career... in a different life.
