Day 13: Rest Day in Lindau

In 1655, after the Thirty Years’ War, the first Lindauer Kinderfest (children’s festival) was held, in memory of the war. This festival introduced by Lindau councillor Valentin Heider makes up an important part of the town’s identity nowadays, too. And guess what it TODAY…

This is how it begins at 6.30am, when all good good cyclists are trying to sleep in on their rest day…

WAKEUP, WAKEUP EVERYBODY

Some were very happy and excited about the early start…

I love this photo taken by Ross…

Some not so much…

Eventhough it is a small island there is much to do…

There were some excellent entertainers about….

A beautiful harbour and ferry rides out into Lake Constance…

or this beauty taken by Chris…

There are also a lot  beautiful architecture and little nooks and alleyways to wander in…

I hope Moses isn’t her husband, because cats can’t read…

You could even have a Zeppelin joy ride as the Friedrichshafen Zepplin Museum is a short shuttle away. Any takers…?

Peter, John and myself…

Dinner was a merry affair…

Staying in a renovated 15th Century building was awesome, but as you can see from the feet of the bed, there is only so much you can fix!
