Woke up to a great breakfast after spending the night in my own personal cabin with jacuzzi and balcony looking out over Cove Bay at Freycinet Lodge.

Wrapping and kissing ourselves on the flag Donne Dollhands…

Some people sleep, some launder, some hang out and chill…others go on a 17 km hike.

The trailhead was about 2-3 km away from the lodge. We had a somewhat cloudy morning with light wind which made it ideal for hiking.j

The trail was a combination of ‘manicured’ trail with lots of rock outcroppings, then switched to more rocky climbing before heading through forested area to the Hazards beach (didn’t see the Dukes there), then up and downs back to the Lodge.

A nice picnic lunch was prepared for us by the guides which had more than enough food to get us through.
The topography was much different than our hiking on the Tasman Peninsula, more like what we see in Muskoka or the Kawarthas.

All in all a great day topped off with a couple of bottles of complementary bubbly and left over lunch snacks.

Life is Good in Freycinet!
