Early rise to a brief shower which then broke into brilliant sunshine. A quick walk to the water’s edge before breakfast and saw a pademelon which looks like a small walabie.

We drove in the team bus about 30 minutes to Waterfall Bay. This was a much more challenging hike than yesterday, seeing magnificent cliff top lookouts and wild and rugged coastline.

Waterfall Bay above.

This hike was approximately 18 km long and felt longer due to the undulating and rough nature of the track.

As we hiked upward towards the Cape the vegetation changed out of rain forest to more rugged.

A little break for a snack before the last climb up to the Cape, and the views were worth every step!

The hike ended at Fortescue Bay. Dave was there with the bus and some rice cold beers to celebrate. Back to the lodge for another great dinner. Last night I had lamb, tonight a nice medium rare rib eye steak, beet salad and chocolate brownie with ice cream

Descending from the Dolomieu Point we reached Fortescue Bay with its white sand beach…

Dave was greeting us at the Fortescue Bay with some snacks and ice cold beer.
The bus ride back to Stewart’s Lodge for a nice steak dinner to cap off a great hiking day.

Life is still good at Stewart’s Bay!
