On the Road: 74km / 45mi & Elevation 881m / 2890ft

A cracking way to finish our Odyssey, riding the roads of an even smaller island – Bruny!
Today started with a 30 min shuttle down to Ketterring for a quick ferry across the channel.

On the other side, the ride down to historic Adventure Bay (first sighted by Abel Tasman in 1642) was a delight – after we got over the initial hill!

The road ahead began and ended with rolling hills, split by about 17.5km of fairly flat riding…
Just past Get Shucked (rated the best oysters in the world…as I’m am allergic to them I wouldn’t know) is the famous Bruny Island Cheese Co. where we stopped for a coffee and cake (cheese cake of course!)

When we arrived in Adventure Bay, we had a final picnic on the beach and toasted with some bubbly for traversing the circumference of Tasmania before rolling back the way we came.
After a gentle first kilometre, the road undulatesd for about 7km before descending towards the Neck.

Before heading back to the ferry we toasted our successful cycling circumnavigation of Tasmania

About 17km of flat riding then an open 2km descent averaging 5% bringing us back to the ferry

From here we shuttled into town for our final night together.

A full double rainbow showed up just before our final briefing and delicious farewell dinner.
