You have to love the Spanish drivers – extremely respectful to cyclists, giving us lots of room on the road. A big difference from the kamikaze Moroccan ones who loved to overtake on blind corners!

Tough day. Pleasant run to coffee

but then constant climbing and false flats to lunch in Trelévez.  This is renowned for jamon production so there was a multitude of lunch options.

After lunch a lovely rolling cycle but brutal final 6kms up to our lovely village of Capiliera.  I was intrigued by the shops in this (tourist) village – it seemed they were rather confused with their own identity as lots of clothes made in Nepal, huge range of straw baskets, cacti & donkeys (which strike me as Mexican) and massed produced colourful pottery.
