Distance:   78 km     Total Ascent:   1,930 metres

Back on the bikes after our travel & rest days. Bruno led us out of town along the main road which skirted the coast. 

After 15kms we turned inland (so no more coastal views until the finish in Porto).

Then a steady 15km climb gaining 1000m. Looking back at the coast it was easy to confuse the vast expanses of shimmering white hothouse’s used for crop production for the water.

What goes up must come down – and we really did earn the descent to our coffee stop.  Another climb to the picnic lunch spot and then a bit more to the hotel.
