A strong headwind all day made for tiring cycling.  The landscape was quite open now that we have ventured into the region known as Extremadura.  Rocky pasture & poppies lined the route as we looped around the Alcazaba de Reina, another castle of Moorish origins.

Some interesting murals in Medina de Las Torres but we preferred the large wine bottle! 

We also passed a number of markers for the well known Camino de Santiago pilgrim trail and some large amphoras.

Tonight our accommodation is in the Parador de Zafra, originally a Muslim fortress that then became the palatial residence of the Dukes of Féria.
