An optional short ride today with only Tom & Thys choosing to pedal.  The rest of us departed early in the 2 shuttle vans driven by Omar & Hussein, with Abdul following the 2 riders in the 4WD. These guys have been fantastic, moving luggage & keeping us supplied with water & snacks.

Up and over Tiz n’Tichka, one of the Atlas passes we had already conquered on Day 5 and then a little excitement…

The Moroccan police are renowned for their enthusiasm for checking papers of vehicles and drivers (which we encountered throughout the trip) and wielding speed cameras.  But today, to the chagrin of one of our group (and a 300 dirham fine), we discovered they also are sticklers for seatbelts.

Surprisingly, the absence of helmets for motorcyclists or scooter riders does not trouble them.  Nor do 4 people riding on a scooter, 2 of which are children!  Different priorities I guess.

And finally we arrived back in Marrakesh for our final night in Morocco.
