“ I intend to live forever, doing a good job so far”…
The saying in Denmark is one can have all 4 seasons in one day….I think we’ve had this the last 2 days! Today started out with bright sunshine and 7C and wind 25km/hr. Just before the coffee break at the 40 km mark a hard rain. Then bright sunshine, temperature rising to 10C, followed at km 65 with more rain, higher wind and small hail. After that system passed through then more sunshine until the 90km mark with temperature
then dropping to 3C, rain, larger hail and wind. The ride ended in sunshine, less wind and 15C.
A nice sunny cold morning with storm clouds building…
The coffee break was set up at an ancient Viking excavation site with a reconstruction of a working farm from the Viking Age. It was interesting to see how the Viking people lived.
We continue on quiet country roads to Fyrkat Viking centre with its impressive Ringborg (fortified village) and reconstructed farm where real life Vikings wander and cook and tell stories of their history! Riding on we were in the heart of Jutland with gentle rolling farmland, small villages and distant sea views.
The route today was excellent; smooth, quiet roads and rolling hills, when it wasn’t raining it was quite beautiful.
Our final destination was the Pier Hotel in the small city of Aalborg with its history and famed university.
Denmark has been voted among the world’s happiest countries for the last ten years. As if that were not enough, out of 83 European cities, Aalborg is where the inhabitants are most happy to live. The people of Aalborg are proud and pleased with the city’s development and standard of living.
An ancient city where Viking ships once sailed past on the Limfjord, Aalborg has evolved to a vibrant cultural hotspot with a spectacular waterfront of iconic architectural buildings.
A delicious dinner in one of the many fine restaurants to finish off another awesome day of riding
Life is Good in Aalborg!

This is starting to look like our Caesar trip with everyone in rain jackets
Beautiful scenery but the beer is expensive so remember…just one pint a day!—Safe Travels, Glenn
