Whilst the olive harvest is around November, there is still crushing and other processes being carried out that produces a distinct but pleasant olive aroma that followed us as we rode through the countryside.

We were hoping for coffee at Zuheros, a tiny ‘pueblo blanco (white village) but everything was still closed at 10.30am. 

However the olive groves are always open and provided a lovely spot for our roadside picnic.

The approach to Córdoba was was splendid – across the Roman bridge straight into the old town.
