Our last day of cycling!  The upper Douro is particularly scenic with steep terraced vines cascading down the to the water. The bulk of cultivation and harvesting is done by hand as it is too steep for any machinery.  

Such a pretty ride – wisteria in full bloom in all the gardens, colourful daisies and sweeping views of the River Douro winding through the valley.

More cars on the road indicate that we are getting nearer to Porto and civilisation and all too soon there are only a few kilometers left and then we are cycling along the waterfront, passing the iconic metal bridges of Porto. 

We have arrived!  

What a journey! 

We celebrated our amazing trip from Marrakesh to Porto with beautiful farewell drinks on the terrace and a superb dinner at our hotel, The Yeatman.
