This morning was wet, very very wet. But I couldn’t help myself when Sara asked if I wanted to join her and John …<\/p>\n

The field notes said\u00a0The scenery is spectacular and we are continually swinging in and out of the bottom of the valleys to avoid the busier sections of the route. With a challenging climb just before coffee we earn our apfel strudel. Then we head into the heart of Tirol – the Inntal Valley (where the Cycling World Championships were held in 2018). \u00a0Our destination tonight is Fall, on the plains north of the Inntal valley just back in Germany.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Everyone else took to the van except for Chris, Dean and Adam who attempted the\u00a0The Kitzb\u00fcheler Horn and got mighty close to the top before being forced back by the weather.<\/p>\n

There weren’t too many photos this morning as it was pouring, but actually we were quite enjoying ourselves and yes it was still very pretty…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

John left us at morning tea when he got too cold, but Konrad joined us and we covered about 75km in the rain before common sense prevailed and we got picked up by Sam and avoided the really ugly climb in the rain.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

But then the sun started poking through and as luck would have it after lunch the weather had turned to the perfect day and everyone who could got out and joined in the fun.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We rode along the edge of\u00a0Achensee on bike paths and made our way quite quickly on a generally downhill run to Fall.<\/p>\n

The Field notes say: The River Inn traverses Tirol from its southernmost perimeter to the north-eastern border. It flows through the province, beginning its journey as a merrily bubbling stream in Engadin in Switzerland. It steadily gains in size and strength before flowing through Tirol and Kufstein, where it leaves the country in the direction of Bavaria. The capital of Tirol, Innsbruck, is named after the river and the Inntal Valley is the main artery of Tirol.<\/em><\/p>\n

Fall seems to be a hydro town, a bit like those mostly ghost town in Australia like Cabramurra, but the Hotel Jager von Fall was very comfortable and the food excellent. We did have another storm that evening, but that would only leave a foggy start for tomorrow and rain would not bother us again.<\/p>\n\n\n
