An interesting start to the trip as I nearly didn’t get out of Sydney after a 5 hr mechanical delay – but clearly someone must have influence – as the flight got permission to break the airport curfew and we finally were airborne just after midnight!

No hope of making any of the ongoing flight connections so I had an unexpected and lengthy transit (18 hours) in Singapore.

However walking around Gardens by the Bay gave me an added bonus of notching up 10,000 steps whilst enjoying the wonderful range of plants, sculptures and biodomes.

Great views from the Supertrees canopy – sustainable vertical gardens housing over 160,000 plants over 200 species. The tallest tree is about the height of a 16 storey building.

After the beauty of the gardens it was a different atmosphere in one of the vast shopping malls. Luxury brands as far as the eye could see! But after 5 minutes in the dotty, spotty Louis Vuitton store I admitted sensory overload and departed.
