A special rest day as we had 2 organized events planned for us. First was a guided tour of the ancient acropolis of Delphi, sitting \u00a0quite a distance up a mountain, this ancient city overlooks the sea miles away and the village of Galaxidi.<\/p>\n

Delphi was the actual centre of the universe, as Zeus consulted with the Oracle of Delphi, who told him to fly two birds, one from the western end of the world and one from the eastern end\u2026where they met was the centre and is marked by an egg shaped monolith<\/p>\n

The Oracle of Delphi: a common woman with prophetic power was chosen to tell the future, it \u00a0was said she was never wrong. She stayed in the Temple of Apollo, and foreign rulers, common people and even gods came to her for guidance. It is said she would inhale magic vapours in the temple and the resultant hallucinations were her special power of prophecy. \u00a0(centuries later geologists noted that below the temple were 2 fault lines and gas emitted from them, hence the inhalation of Smokey vapours).<\/p>\n
